A Quick Way to Test Your Car Battery

You need a properly charged battery in order to start your ignition. If you turn the key and hear clicking sound, it may be a good indication that your battery isn’t fully charged.

The easiest thing to do is test your battery with a multimeter. There are two cables that you will need to connect to your battery. Turn off the ignition and touch the black lead to the negative battery cable and the red lead to the positive one.

The readout on the multimeter will tell you what you need to know. Generally, anything above 12.45 volts identifies that your battery is sufficiently charged.
