Today Honda issued a press release announcing the much-anticipated arrival of the all-new 2016 Civic Coupe. Following in the tracks of the acclaimed Civic Sedan, named 2016 North American Car of the Year, the coupe matches many of the Sedan's attributes in sporty two-door configuration.
Offering a wider range of options than ever before, the Civic Coupe is available with the Honda Sensing suite of safety and driver-assistance technologies. Additionally, an advanced infotainment system delivers enhanced connectivity with support for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. An upgraded chassis provides enhanced comfort and dynamic handling performance.
Three powertrain options set the whole package in motion: a 174-horsepower 1.5-liter DOHC turbo engine with CVT, a 158-horsepower 2.0-liter i-VTEC paired with CVT, and the same 2.0-liter engine with a six-speed manual transmission.
"This new Civic Coupe exemplifies Honda’s focus on fun-to-drive character with two powerful engine options and a chassis tuned specifically for driving fun," said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Division. "As the second model in our sportiest and most ambitious Civic lineup ever, the coupe sets the bar for performance, refinement and connectivity in the compact coupe segment.”
Carrying a starting MSRP of $19,050, the Civic Coupe goes on sale next week, March 15.
