Have you ever wondered what it would have been like if Honda had never begin selling cars in the U.S.? While we don't, the first attempt at selling a model in America didn't go so well. However, they learned from their shortcomings and brought us the Civic, which is based on their first-ever American-sold car, the N600.

Aside from being the first American sold Honda model, the N600 was also surprisingly technologically advanced for its time. Boasting an alloy 600cc two-cylinder engine, it produced 9,000 rpm and could reach top speeds between 77 and 82 mph. Four years after its introduction and 25,000 units sold, Honda replaced it with the Civic of today, and the rest is history.
