Getting ready for the holidays often means that you'll be spending time with the ones you love. As you're preparing for a road trip this holiday season, keep these tips in mind to keep your food safe while driving.
After putting your food in a secure casserole dish or lid, place the dish in a heat-controlled bag. This not only keeps your food warm or cool, but provides another barrier of protection so that food spills won't ruin your car. Reusable shopping bags can also be used for this purpose, and will make it easier for you to transport your food from the car to the party site.
If you're traveling with smaller foods like appetizers and desserts, use large sandwich bags to house the treats and keep the crumbs from getting in the car. Ask a relative to watch the foods in the back seat as well to prevent spills before they happen. Happy holidays!
